SUMMARY:Achieving (EC)Radiance on AMD GPUs with the AMD Next Generation Fo
 rtran Compiler
DESCRIPTION:Paul Mullowney, Thomas Gibson, and Michael Klemm (AMD, Inc)\n\
nFortran continues to be a powerful programming language used in scientifi
c computing, particularly in fields such as weather and climate modeling.
Recognizing its importance, AMD has developed a next-generation Fortran co
mpiler built on the open-source LLVM Flang project. This initiative aims t
o empower HPC developers to maximize the potential of AMD GPUs through Ope
nMP and direct ROCm/HIP interfaces. This presentation will provide a compr
ehensive overview of the new AMD Fortran compiler, showcasing its capabili
ties with practical examples drawn from the ECRad radiation code.\n\nDomai
n: Climate, Weather, and Earth Sciences, Computational Methods and Applied
Mathematics\n\nSession Chairs: Michael Lange (ECMWF) and Balthasar Reuter
  (ECMWF)\n\n
