SUMMARY:Hybrid Classic-Quantum Systems for Molecular Dynamics
DESCRIPTION:Ivona Brandic (TU Wien)\n\nIn this talk, we explore the concep
t of hybrid classical-quantum systems as a response to the growing demand
for computational resources. Modern scientific applications increasingly r
ely on diverse hardware accelerators like GPUs, TPUs, and NPUs. With the a
dvent of the post-Moore era and the rise of quantum computing, new opportu
nities and challenges emerge as we aim to integrate quantum systems into t
he established computational continuum. Hybrid systems promise unprecedent
ed resource efficiency but require addressing key challenges such as data
encoding, noise, transpilation, and the heterogeneity of quantum architect
ures - necessitating new hardware and software layers.\nIn the second part
of the talk we discuss the challenges and design choices for the hybrid c
lassic quantum system by utilizing the molecular dynamics applications as
an use case.\n\nDomain: Chemistry and Materials, Engineering, Physics, Com
putational Methods and Applied Mathematics\n\nSession Chairs: Ewa Deelman
(University of Southern California) and Michela Taufer (University of Tenn
 essee)\n\n
