SUMMARY:Modeling Electrocatalytic Materials and Interfaces for Energy Conv
 ersion
DESCRIPTION:Ismaila Dabo (Carnegie Mellon University)\n\nWater electrolysi
s is a key enabler for meeting the global energy demands by sustainably pr
oducing molecular hydrogen and oxygen. While significant progress has been
made in developing catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction and oxyg
en evolution reaction, the performance of electrochemical cells remains li
mited by the activity, selectivity, and durability of existing catalysts.
This talk will highlight advances in the modeling of electrochemical mater
ials and interfaces under realistic operating conditions to accelerate the
discovery and optimization of electrocatalytic cells.\n\nDomain: Chemistr
y and Materials, Physics, Computational Methods and Applied Mathematics\n\
nSession Chair: Nicola Colonna (Paul Scherrer Institute)\n\n
